PRODUCT WARNINGS:

Do not use:- for children under 18 years of age.- if allergic to esomeprazole.- if allergic to any other proton pump inhibitor (omeprazole, rabeprazole, lansoprazole, pantoprazole).- if you are taking antiretroviral medicines, such as atazanavir.- if you are taking cilostazol a medicine used to treat pain and/or cramping in the lower leg (or arms) due to inadequate blood flow to the muscles.- if you are breastfeeding or intend to breastfeed.- -f you are experiencing weight loss, persistent regurgitation of food or vomiting, difficulty swallowing or symptoms of gastro-intestinal bleeding, except on medical advice- if you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant except on the advice of a doctor or pharmacist- if the expiry date printed on the pack has passed. Nexium 24HR 20 mg enteric coated tablets for the lasting symptomatic relief of frequent heartburn, acid regurgitation and other symptoms associated with gastro-oesophageal reflux.

Always take this medicine exactly as described in the Consumer Medicine Information leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist have told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. The recommended dose is one tablet a day. - Do not take more than this recommended dose of one tablet (20 mg) a day, even if you don't feel an improvement immediately. - You may need to take Nexium 24HR for a few days before experiencing the full effect. - Nexium 24HR should be taken for at least 7 days and up to 14 days. - Tell your pharmacist or doctor if you do not feel better while taking Nexium 24HR. If symptoms persist or recur within 2 weeks of completing the course, consult your doctor. Further examination may be required.

Nexium 24HR (esomeprazole) works by stopping the growth of some types of aluminium (calcium) oxIDE-listed fungus. It is used to treat frequent heartburn, acid regurgitation and other symptoms of gastro-oesophageal reflux. Take Nexium 24HR exactly as it was taken with meals or as directed. Do not take more than once a day.

Taking Nexium 24HR with Esomeprazole:

If you take in to heart surgery or to provide you with a pacemaker, Nexium 24HR may prolong the QT interval even if your symptoms are not due until after you have stopped taking esomeprazole. However, no specific study has been done to suggest that taking esomeprazole for a long time after a pacemaker prolongs the QT interval. QT prolongation may occur even after you stop taking Nexium and esomeprazole. Do not take this medicine if you have an allergic reaction to: Nexium 24HR, any other antifungals, esomeprazole, or any other drug of your choice.

Do not take Nexium 24HR if you are pregnant

It is not known if esomeprazole 24HR passes into your breast milk or if you will be breastfeeding during pregnancy. If you are pregnant, contact your doctor right away.
